I commend you on your efforts to keep your customers so informed. The issues that show up by having a system installed without a permit can take years before the homeowner knows what has happened. Permits are needed to ensure all codes have been complied with. No permit makes it very easy for the install to be done with many short cuts so the company makes more profit. It is not the cost of the permit that makes it tempting to due the work without one, it's the cost of the extra labor and material to do all the things needed to pass the inspection of the county or city. I have seen installs that saved the A/C company as much as 1500.00 by not pulling a permit and cost the homeowner much more then that 3-5 years down the road. Low bid wins again.
I hope your customers understand how rare you are in this industry and you are truly a professional in your field. In these tough economic times, a company such as yours, is the quality company you want to see get thru the struggles we all are facing...Scott C
